As Chairman and sole owner of CompuPros, which he founded in 1987, Tom Dodd has the overall management responsibility for his company. A strong leadership team manages day-to-day operations. This allows him to focus on the consulting arm of CompuPros. His focus on the consulting segment of the business includes maintaining a leadership presence on all consulting assignments, direct management of some consulting engagements, and participation in various marketing activities.

Tom has more than 30 years experience in the oil, aerospace, information technology and insurance industries. Major employers and consulting clients include Schlumberger, NASA, EDS, USLIFE (17 years, 10 as CIO), Time Insurance (3 years as consultant), Fortis US (5 years as consulting CIO), Washington National Insurance (consulting CIO of the Group Division), Empire Blue Cross of New York (outsourcing IT engagement manager of Managed Care Division), and Trustmark.
During his career Tom has worked at most disciplines of technology from programming to systems design and development to CIO level IT management with a scope of 1,600 employees spread over eight sites nationwide. He has planned and managed numerous systems' integrations, developing strong skill sets focused on IT leadership, methodologies, accountabilities, and problem resolution. He was instrumental in the development of proprietary systems, most notably, the process methodology the company utilizes for all its assignments and a group insurance front-end system developed exclusively for the insurance industry.
Tom has planned and managed the building of large and small computer centers in many U.S. locations. He has planned and managed telecommunications networks linking clients across the country. His strategy has been to capitalize upon volume pricing discounts while maintaining the flexibility to expand and contract the data center and telecommunications network (voice and data) capacities with the needs of the businesses.
Tom has managed the acquisition, divestiture, and systems integrations of more than 20 financial services companies, primarily in health and life insurance. He has built and managed technology installations utilizing a variety of platforms: mainframe, midframe, client/server, telecommunications, and Internet.
